Lotus Room: Fried Rice Howard Wong and his family operated the Lotus Room at 1143 South Brentwood for over 30 years. Their fried rice contained no peas or carrots. Dark soy sauce gave it a rich brown color.
Fried Rice Source: Howard Wong Yield: 4-6 servings Ingredients
Preparation In small bowl, mix hot water, honey, sesame oil, soy sauce and pepper. Set aside. Fluff cooked rice to get out lumps. In wok or large pan, sauté onion in oil over medium heat until translucent. Add rice, mixing well. Add sauce mixture and salt, coating evenly.
