Melrose Pizzeria: Pizza Sauce

Pizza was first served in St. Louis in 1946 by Amedeo Fiore at his Melrose Pizzeria. In a classic 1947 St. Louis Post-Dispatch article, Fiore demonstrated how to make pizza – the first documentation of what we today call St. Louis style pizza. The article also included the recipe for Fiore's pizza sauce.
